PTO FAQ

Q: Where can I check my PTO balance?

A: You can view your PTO balance on your most recent paystub. You can also check your PTO balance in UKG Dimensions: https://samsungelectronics.prd.mykronos.com.

Q: Why does my latest paystub and UKG Dimensions show 2 different balances?

A: Please note, in UKG Dimensions your available balance will update once your "Planned Takings" section has a balance of 0.00. We recommend referring your most recent paystub or the "Current Vested Balance" section in UKG Dimensions.

To view your current vested balance: go to your timecard in a browser. My timecard > accruals > current vested balance.

Current Vested Balance: The current balance for an accrual code without upcoming grants or requests for the same time period.

Q: I forgot to submit/cancel PTO in time. Or my manager did not approve of my request/cancellation. What can be done to correct this?

A: Please complete the amended timecard form and receive your manager's approval. Once we have your manager's approval we can process the changes to your timecard. Please note, it can take 1-2 pay periods to see any changes reflected.

Q: I am getting the following error message when trying to submit PTO: "Date in signed-off pay periods cannot be changed" The Timecard allows you to enter data on this day, in case the hours are applied to the unsigned-off period. However, this data would apply hours to the signed-off period. Sign-of date: mm/dd/yyyy 12:00 AM." What can I do?

A: An amended timecard will be needed to apply any hours or PTO to a closed pay period. Please complete the amended timecard form and submit a ticket to the NA SSC. Once we receive your manager's approval we can complete the changes. Please note, it can take 1-2 pay periods to see any changes reflected.

Q: I submitted multiple PTO requests at once. I need to cancel a future PTO request, but I submitted the request with one that includes a closed pay period. How can I cancel the PTO?

A: Please submit a ticket to the NA SSC for further assistance. We recommend submitting PTO in separate requests instead of one large request.

Q: I cancelled my PTO request, however my manager accidentally refused the cancellation. How can I ensure my PTO gets cancelled?

A: Please submit a ticket to the NA SSC for further assistance.

Q: I submitted a PTO request that included weekends/holidays. Will I be deducted PTO for the weekends and holidays too?

A: You should not be deducted PTO for any weekends or holidays (unless you are scheduled to work weekends). Please note, the UKG Dimensions system is configured to skip over applying PTO for days that do not have a schedule. We highly recommend submitting PTO requests individually to ensure no issues occur to your timecard.

Q: How do I check my accrual rate?

A: You can view this in your paystub. Please refer to the PTO section within your paystub. The "current" reflects your accrual rate.

Q: How often do I accrue PTO?

A: You accrue PTO every pay period. Please note your accrual rate is dependent upon your years of service. It will also vary if you are on compressed work week schedule versus a traditional.

Q: How much PTO will carry over into the next year?

A: All unused PTO will carry over.

Q: How much PTO will I accrue in a year? What is the maximum I can accrue?

A: No, you are not able to request PTO before it officially accrues. You are only able to use what is available.

Q: What are the other types of time off available to me?

A: Volunteer time off (VTO), voting and jury duty, and bereavement.

Volunteer time off (VTO) - Community involvement is a key element to our culture and vision. We encourage our employees to volunteer their time and talents to local organizations. You can use up to 16 hours of paid time each year to give back and make a difference in the community.

Voting and jury duty - To support and encourage employees to participate in civic obligations, Samsung provides up to:

  • Two paid scheduled workweeks for jury duty, per summons.
  • Two paid consecutive hours to vote on Election Day if you’re unable to vote at a time outside of work.

Bereavement - You may request up to five scheduled workdays of paid bereavement leave after the death of a loved one.

To request bereavement, notify your immediate supervisor. Management may require proof of the need for bereavement leave.

Bereavement donation: If you die or your spouse/domestic partner or child dies, Samsung will donate $1,000 to your family or a charity of your choice.
